Phebe Scarce / Kangaroo Ground

Summary

Phebe Thompson Jardine (1855-1933) was the granddaughter of early Kangaroo Ground pioneers, John and Margaret Jardine who had taken up land in the 1840s. Her parents were Elizabeth Jardine and John Thompson.

Further information

In 1880 she married Henry Scarce (1856-1934), also from Kangaroo Ground. See [C4].

The couple went on to have six sons and became one of the most successful farming families in the district, building the spacious homestead Kiata.
