Let the Games begin! Not the Tokyo Games, but Olympic Games closer to home. This image is from the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Melbourne on Thursday 22nd November 1956. It was conducted at the MCG on a wet afternoon, commencing at 3.00 p.m.
